Nature Trail
The Nature Trail leads across an extensive karst plateau through intact high alpine scenery and is an important component of the
World Heritage Hiking World. Along the trail characteristic karst patterns highly impress as well as the wide variety of fauna and flora and the easternmost glacier of the Alps. Amid the high alpine scenery, there are many worthknowing
aspects of geological evolution, karst, fauna and flora to be introduced to. The
convenient trail is 8 km long and mountain lodges at regular intervals await tired hikers.
Furthermore a projected glacier trail will introduce via guided tours to the formation of glaciers and to how climate change impacts on our local ice fields. The present Nature Trail will lead via the Simony Hut to this glacier trail.
Moreover, the Dachstein plateau is beyond informative nature trails a true paradise for hikers and mountaineers. Enjoyable promenades near the cable car top station or demanding high alpine tours – the Dachstein Hiking World fits everybody’s expectations.
