Everything`s new around the cableway
We set an infrastructural milestone through the reconstruction of the cable car and the total renovation of the stations.
By means of new, even larger panorama cars, the DACHSTEIN HIKING WORLD is optimally equipped for the expected flood of visitors. Each car contains 60 people and hovers comfortably and in a totally barrier-free way up and down the mountain.
Not only the access to the cars is barrier-free, but also the valley station has been adapted excellently to the needs of human beings with handicaps. Short distances, especially equipped toilets for the handicapped and ground-floor cashiers and entrances enable wheel-chair users and people with walking handicaps, as well as families with prams, to get up the mountain as quickly and easily as possible.
On the Schönberg Alp all paths have been reconstructed in the course of the renovations for the provincial exhibition, too. Thanks to hardly any inclinations, all of them can be used by wheel-chairs without any problems.
"Dachstein - Explorers - Cave Bears"
Experience and mere adventure await visitors to the themed exhibition "Dachstein - Explorers - Cave Bears" staged at the Schönbergalm area in the context of the Upper Austria exhibition "oberösterreichische Landesausstellung 2008".
Beside the Cave Museum which has been restaged by the Linz University of Art, 18 various nature and adventure features wait to be explored through play.
All purchased tickets to DACHSTEIN World Heritage include free entry to the "Landesausstellung"- exhibition at the Schönbergalm area. Visitors holding a Landesausstellung- joint ticket respectively a permanent pass obtain a reduction ao approx. 50% on cableway tickets up to Schönbergalm-terminal as well as discounts on other services such as guided cave tours or other sections of DACHSTEIN-World Heritage cableway.
